This is a journal of the South Island Junket 2002: one week of the most awesome mountain riding in the most awesome setting anywhere!

I've broken up the Junket into one page per day due to the large number of pictures that were taken. I know that's a lot, but it seemed a shame not to show the whole trip, especially after the time Barney and I put into taking the pictures. (And everyone likes to see photos of themselves, right?) Enjoy the memories.

JUNKET 2002

On March 8th, 13 riders from Auckland met at the Honest Lawyer Country Pub in Nelson, New Zealand to partake in a week of mountain biking and adventures throughout the Nelson and Marlborough Sounds area.

Peter, better known as Skoda, was the man who made it all happen. He was the chief organizer and a great tour guide.

The Honest Lawyer Country Pub was a little touch of luxury to kick off the whole adventure.

Our first agenda was to plan a menu and buy the necessary groceries for the next seven days.

Thanks to Di, Skoda, Jane and Roy for handling the shopping: $800 of groceries, $300 of beer. Then they went off to the Op-Shop to acquire some '60's duds. Skoda's calling an extra bus.

Dinner at the Honest Lawyer.

Jane takes control of the table. The boys must have had their minds on something else? The 60's?
