Tuscany - Camucia

Day 2 - Sept 15th - Our route today took us from Camucia to Lucignano, and beyond. (Map of route coming)

Our route in brown.

Before heading out for the day we spent some time at the local market.
Vic bought pots for our pasta and Sherman was into the sweets.

Keang found the best sunflower patch.
I was in heaven.

Typical old farm house with a pigeon roost on the top.

Panoramic view from Foiano.

Besides the obvious grapes, we're not sure what other crops are grown
in this area. Seems to be grains.

You can see Lucignano on top of the hill in
the distance. Still aways to go.

Different types of bridges

Olives

We stopped and bought groceries just before arriving in Cesa to make our lunch. We parked in front of the church and used the benches to prepare our feast. We were going to need the energy to ride up the hill to Lucignano.

I guess we were just too rough on those Asian boys. They can't seem to handle the pace.

After lunch we were off again to Lucignano.

Bruce and Roy at the entrance to the town.

Town map.

The main piazza on top of the hill.

Stairs up to the church.

Street scenes of Lucignano

Loaded with grapes.
Different than loaded with wine.

The streets are so narrow, yet these cars can
manage 90 degree turns.

Roy at the rear entrance to the town.

Vic was our negotiator for some ceramics we bought.

Here is the artist at work.

And these are some of her painted ceramics.

It was great to actually meet the artist who painted the ceramics we bought.

Time to head home.

Stopped to talk to a couple of locals on the way
through a very small town on the way home.

The day is over and off come the shoes. Riding shoes are not very
comfortable walking around all those cobble stones streets all day.

Happy hour at our agritourisimo.

The pasta chef.

A wonderful meat pasta for dinner prepared by
our chefs, Jean and Bill. And local wine
from the B&B.

Shift into gear for Day 3
