Welcome to the adventures of

Brian, Barb, Adam, Carol & Roy

Buckle up, we have lift off.
Looking from the lodge towards Lake Magog.

A short heli ride and we arrived at the Mt. Assiniboine Lodge. We waited for all our gear to arrive before hauling it over to the Naiset Cabins.

Who's banana peel is this?
Hmmm, not mine...

Aster Hut

Our group of five Norseman stayed in the Naiset cabins while the rest opted for a few luxuries such as daily showers, prepared meals, cozy chairs in front of the fire, guided skiing, etc. We lived pretty luxurious but we wouldn't have said no to a wee bit more space. Especially with the "Friendly Giant" in our cabin.

The rangers cabin with Mount Cautley behind and to the right. The lodge guests did a wonderful job of tracking up Cautley after we received a fresh dump of snow. Jealous? Hell yes!

Morning views as we head out for the day. Our destination is Ellie's Dome.

Looking back at Mt. Assiniboine. It doesn't get any better than this.

Roy checks out the morning views while checking to make sure everyone's transceivers were transmitting.

Ellie's dome, the highest snow peak left of the bare rock outcrop. The sun is just touching the top of the dome.
Brian points in the direction of Ellie's Dome.
Wonder Pass is directly behind Roy on the left.

Making our way up to the base of Ellie's.
Time to put the skins on.

A panoramic view from half way up Ellie's Dome. Mount Assiniboine towers in the back.

Roy leaving the top of Ellie's.
Adam making his way home after a great day of skiing.

Rum & Beer
Tequila Caesars

As you can see, we didn't suffer too greatly. Each ski day was followed by pre dinner drinks and appies. The meals would most likely rival anything served at the lodge but we did have to do our own dishes. Good thing we brought our own scullery maid.

Manhattans
Wine

Adam decided we needed to clean up the hut a wee bit so he provided Brian with some water (oops) to wash the floors.
Barb on dish duty.

Morning, noon, and night, a woman's work is never done.

Adam prepares lunch in amongst the clutter....
.....while Brian enjoys breakfast.

It snowed the previous day and night but we woke up to another amazing day. This view looks towards the lodge with the Nub Ridge catching some sun in the background.

We stopped for a snack break before heading up onto the Nublet where we proceeded to do justice in the fresh snow. Our friend Steve joined us for the day. We were only too happy to have him as he broke most of the trail.

"If you're not falling, you're not learning!"
Barb with Starburst in the background.

Leaving Mt. Assiniboine behind as we start our ski trek out to Mt. Shark. John & Betty Alliston, Larry & Karen Fisher and John Hart joined us for the ski out.

Lunch at the Wardens cabin at Bryant Creek

Nothing like a ton of smelly gear and smelly feet for the ride home.

Thanks to Barb and Brian for  their photo contributions.
